Bathroom horrors and birthday cakes

Friday

Every time I go to the bathroom here it is a terrifying experience. Not because I have an upset stomach but because dipping the cup in the big basin of pungent water (my incredibly active imagination conjures up cartoon looking parasites frolicking happily around my hands), the toilet paper or lack there of, prior guests imprints on the bathroom, and I always always forget the rules.

The rules aren't difficult. Just simply don't throw your toilet paper in the toilet, but put it in the waste basket beside the toilet. Other people remember. I can see their tissues. I just always drop my tissue in the toilet and then I feel anguish. Should I fish it out?
NO!! Is the answer to that. If I don't fish it out am I comfortable with being "the girl that ruined (insert country here)'s sewage system"? No. But I can't make myself fish it out. I can't do it. So then I resolve in my brain that I will understand if I don't get my next travel visa granted or a picture of my face goes up in bathrooms across various continents.

The cases today at Cure went smoothly and well (no random electric failures, etc). After that we went to Black lion undercover to check on our patient that had extensive surgery the day before. He looked great and was no longer scared. I gave him a bubble wand (some might think 11 years old is too old for a bubble wand. Those people are wrong. I have a bubble wand and I think it is amazing).

We walked back and wandered in and out of shops. I bought another toothbrush (apparently I am a sucker for a dude with a toothbrush). We went to a pharmacy out of curiosity and advice that it might be a strong move to purchase anti-parasitics before we left just in case. The pharmacist was pleasant and knowledgable.

Back at the hotel after a workout I went and bought a birthday cake in the hotel bakery since due to illness we as a group had been unable to celebrate before. I took the cake down to the poolside bar where the rest of the team was eating and we just relaxed and talked until half of our team had to leave for the airport.

The rest of the evening was filled with people watching in the lobby and a stroll through "the office" the hotel club.
